1/80のモデル15編成58両を4年で仕上げた記録と作品集。分量が分量だけに雑誌への発表ではなく自社本としての刊行を決断された由。制作過程も示されていて、車体は、アイボリー紙のカッティングプロッターによる切り抜き。床下機器は主にプラ材。台車は3Dプリントと黄銅板の組み合わせ。正面の連結器も作り分け。サイドビューで、床下機器が浮いているところと、戸袋窓のブルーガラスが印象的。井上雄次氏製作というレイアウト「昭和阪急神戸線」上で撮影された写真の被写界深度に感激（表紙参照）。2扉時代の模型用詳細図面付。

OJ D51760製作の軌跡 三木隆

＜作者の言葉＞　････広島県安芸川尻が親父の郷里で、呉線ファンである私としてC59161に次いでD51760はぜひ作りたい「カマ」でした。ところが昭和38（1963）年から昭和48（1967）年頃の呉線の写真を出してみますと、D51の写真が無いのです。
　C62、C59なら沢山あるのですが、その当時は呉線でD51の牽く貨物列車など見向きもしませんでした。反省！！
　同じ関西OJクラブの関敏夫、水野誠の両氏に恐る恐る小さな声で聞きましたところ、「あるで〜」のお返事。そして写真をいただきました。その後、冗談ですけれど、「よう呉線でD51なんか撮っていたなあ〜」なんて悪態をついています。
　このたび3年4ヶ月をかけて「D51760」が完成しました。

　今回「模型大学」NEWS編集者の秋元宏氏のご好意により、同NEWSに全30回にわたり連載の製作記を一冊にまとめていただきました。皆さんのご参考になれば幸いです。
